Tammuz Family is proud to lead the surrogacy revolution among couples and individuals who are HIV+.
In each of our programs geared for single individuals and same-sex couples—U.S.A, COLOMBIA & MEXICO—eligible intended parents who are positive can safely donate sperm for the purposes of an IVF-based surrogacy pregnancy.
Positive donors must have their sperm washed in advance of fertilization.
Sperm washing is performed only in laboratories properly equipped and accredited to carry out the process, which falls under the umbrella of Special Programs for Assisted Reproduction (SPAR). In 2017, after reviewing the results of over 11,500 IVF cycles in which washed sperm was utilized and in which none of the related pregnancies resulted in either the carrier/mother or the baby contracting HIV, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officially endorsed sperm washing as a highly reliable means by which HIV+ intended fathers can use their sperm for the purposes of an IVF.
Jon’s managerial skills are also deeply informed by his previous careers in publishing and the theatre, where his work collaborating with and guiding writers and performers to bring about their best work provides a vital foundation for the highly personal, complex, adventurous enterprise that is surrogacy. Jon lives with his husband and kids in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where Tammuz Family North America’s office is located.
Jon Mozes first became involved with surrogacy through his and his husband’s own first journey in 2016, with Tammuz Family in the U.S.A., resulting in the birth of their son. They have since had another baby through surrogacy, a daughter, also with Tammuz Family in the U.S.A. To say that Jon can attest to his fondness for and devotion to Tammuz Family is an understatement! Both through his personal experience with surrogacy and as a parent of now two young amazing kids, Jon, like everyone at Tammuz, is deeply passionate about helping intended parents fulfill their dream of forming a family through surrogacy.
